As you can imagine, it's *very* hard to search for.

That might be a good project though. It fascinates me because I used to go shooting and dirt bike riding in that area when I was a kid in the 80s. I bought my first house in the area right before they demolished the town's ruins.

If only I had known, I could've explored some. The lesson I took was the same as I get shopping at Costco: seize the moment because it might not be there when you go back.bbrownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12777868386569441565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6582571784391063912.post-41244872513150117842016-03-29T07:47:45.760-07:002016-03-29T07:47:45.760-07:00Very cool! It spawned the town of Union and the Union Hills. All that's left now is a fenced shaft but it (and the Jack White Mine a mile or so north used to be quite an operation, even supporting a ten-stamp mill!) It was owned by a succession of notables, including Frank Alkire, until it finally went bust in 1981.

Incidentally, there's also a "cave" that gave the creek its name.bbrownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12777868386569441565noreply@blogger.com
