Cocktails with a breathtaking view in the 1930s at the Hotel Claremont, Berkeley, California

It's the 1930s, and I could go for some cocktails tonight. Let's go to the Hotel Claremont in the 1930s, which is in Berkeley, California. Don't worry, I'm paying!

When I found this image today on the Duke University site, I knew that I would enjoy having some cocktails with you at the Terrace Lounge, and that since we would be time-traveling to the 1930s, I would be able to pay for them easily with my 21st Century money.

Looks like it's quite a view! What's mine? I'll have a gin-and-tonic of course. You? A highball? Be sure to specify Wilson whiskey! Pass me over those peanuts, please. Another for me? No, not unless you're having one. You are? Well, don't mind if I do!

Whoa, I may have been overserved! Yes, I know that they're not as strict in the 1930s about drunk driving as in the 21st Century, but I still want to get home safe. Call me a cab! Very funny - I'm a cab.
